Behold The PS3 Slim Laptop

Posted in : PS3 Slim

(added few years ago!)

As nice a system as the new PlayStation 3 Slim is, it still has a number of faults. Like any other home console, it doesn't have its own screen or speakers, and it's not particularly portable, although it is much more compact than the previous iteration of the PS3. Modder Ben Heckendorn, who is famous for fitting various consoles into laptop cases has done it again, this time with the innards of a PS3 fitting into the system you see above.

Behold The PS3 Slim Laptop

Just as it always is, it's an impressive feat that he managed to get it all into that case and working, complete with a 17" screen, stereo speakers, a built-in power supply, and a compartment for the power cord. The video below demonstrates the system in action and that it really does play games (in this case, Resistance: Fall of Man) and function as a normal PS3 system. The entire process is detailed on Heckendorn's blog with accompanying pictures and videos showing what looks like an extremely painstaking process.
