PC Manufacturer Lenovo has launched a new sub laptop, the Thinkpad X130e, which replaces the X120e and is geared towards the educational market. Worth noting that it is a Thinkpad rather than an Ideapad model and therefore comes with the Thinkpad's signature "nipple" controller.

The device is equipped either with the Core Intel i3-2367M ULV second generation Sandy Bridge processor or the AMD Fusion E-300 or E-450 processors. Users can choose between the AMD Radeon or the Intel HD-powered graphics subsystem (apparently no discrete graphics card).

There's also a 11.6-inch 1366x768 pixels display, 2GB RAM (upgradable to 8GB), up to 500GB hard disk, Lenovo's own proprietary RapidBoot technology that should cut the startup time, three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA and Ethernet sockets as well as a card reader and a six cell battery that should power the laptop for up to 8.5 hours.

In addition, Lenovo has included a number of features aimed at improving the durability of the laptop; this include a top cover rubber bumper, corners that are a third stronger, stronger hinges, a stronger bezel to protect the panel and recessed ports. Lenovo hasn't confirmed when the X130e will be available in the UK and at what price.
