If you like the idea of a big ol' laptop that's best suited to desk duty, but your budget is extremely limited, try this: Today only, and while supplies last, Sellout.woot has the refurbished HP Pavilion G72-C55DX 17.3-inch laptop for $359.99, plus $5 for shipping. That's just a crazy-low price. So low, in fact, that I was reluctant to post this today for fear that it'll sell out. Let's hope Woot has enough inventory to satisfy the deal-hungry masses.
I'm not going to regurgitate all the Pavilion's specs, which are plainly listed on the product page. However, I will note that with its dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM, and 500GB hard drive, it has sufficient muscle for mainstream computing tasks. At 1,600x900 pixels, the screen resolution is just shy of 1080p--but trust me when I say movies and the like will still look great on this spacious display.
The only real rub here is the 90-day warranty, which is quite common for a refurbished PC. Of course, most problems reveal themselves in the first month or so anyway, so I think it's worth a die-roll to get this mammoth machine for a mere $360. $360!
