Gimmick features have been around in electronics for, well since forever. A good gimmick feature is usually one that you will never be able to leverage in any real world situation but the manufacturer still pushes the feature as a must have. Well a new notebook computer that is about to be launched by Toshiba features something that you will most likely never find real world value in. The Toshiba Dynabook Qosmio T750 features a special type of color shifting paint on it’s lid, check out the graphic below to see what I mean.

The animation above shows that the notebook when held at one angle is colored a bright blue but at another angle turns to dark purple. Toshiba accomplishes this eye-candy trick by using special metal-free nano-technology that gives the laptops lid a metallic look. The colors the notebook shits to and from include Blue, Green and Purple.
Other than the color shifting there is still a laptop there and here are the specifications released at this time. The laptop will have a 15.6-inch HD (1366 x 768 pixel resolution) LED-backlit display, a 2.66GHz Intel Core i5-480M processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 750GB hard drive, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Harmon/Kardon speakers, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI output, USB 2.0 and eSATA ports.
Toshiba will be launching the Dynabook Qosmio T750 in Japan only and at this time there are no official plans to bring a notebook like this to North America.
