Lu Bing-hsian a sales manager for the Taiwan-based Acer computer company is the source for the comment featured in the title. He has recently sat down for an interview with IDG News to talk about the companies upcoming tablets. In their conversation he made some interesting remarks about tablets he says will be coming to market in the first half of this year.

Lu claims that Acer will release a 7-inch tablet and a 10-inch tablet starting out this year. The tablets will according to him be powered by Intel Sandy Bridge processors (quad-core) and run on Android OS (something we’ll have to see to believe). With those features he claims the tablets will be faster than laptops that use Windows 7.
As for pricing the sales manager didn’t want to comment on that but we can take a guess that if the tablets are really as grand as Lu explains them they will cost around $1000. However we hope there was some kind of mix-up in what he meant to say and what is reality.
